Why failed transactions count in Season 0
When a transaction reverts, the network still processes it up to the point of failure and charges a fee for the gas used. Season 0 includes these fees.
Fees for failed transactions
On EVM chains, a transaction that runs out of gas or reverts pays for all gas consumed until it stopped. Common cases are swaps that fail on slippage, mints that sell out before the transaction is included and duplicate approvals.
Why they are included
Season 0 measures what users paid in fees, and failed transactions are part of that amount. Most failures happen during busy periods such as token launches, volatile markets and popular mints.
Abuse protection
Failing transactions on purpose costs real fees. The anti-sybil filters also flag patterns such as repeated reverts from new wallets funded from one source, and the network and wallet age multipliers give more weight to long histories on several networks.
